Multidisciplinary Institute in Artificial intelligence

This call for project is open to all members of the academic partners in the MIAI Cluster consortium.

In the context of this call, MIAI Cluster welcomes projects aiming:

• to explore new areas,
• to foster new collaborations involving either internal or external partners (note that MIAI’s funding can cover mobility between partners’ sites but not participation to conferences),
• to support the organization of workshops and seminars,
• to support the organization of summer/autumn/winter schools or hackathons (the targeted audience can be Master/PhD students or private or public professionals).

The selection will be based on the quality of the project and the collaborations it relies on or fosters.  Proposals should be prepared using the attached template. Applications are open all year round. Assessment of the proposals will be carried out by the relevant MIAI board (scientific, education or innovation board) and by the executive committee.

- Projects can be submitted at any time and should consiste on a single pdf file. Each pdf file should be named as: YOURLASTNAME-OpenCallMIAI.pdf

- Processing time is 4-6 weeks to obtain a response. In the event of a positive response, and depending on the university site (UCA, USMB or UGA), additional processing time may be required before credits are available for operational use. 
- Please note that the budget allocated may not correspond to the budget requested but may cover only a part of it.

BUDGET INFORMATION

Amount of the allocated funding per project: typically from €3.5K to €10K, and up to €15K for schools and hackathons.
The budget can be used for instance for internships, travels, equipment, venue rental or to cover teaching hours. Participation to conferences is not covered.

The budget the budget will be made available at the laboratory's financial centre, with no management fees. It will be valid until the end of the same quarter of the following year. For example, if project funding is confirmed to the project leader on 15/01/2025, expenses can be incurred up to 31/03/2026.

In the case of workshops, seminars, schools and hackathons, it is requested that MIAI Cluster logo appears on all communication and distribution materials for the event.
